Let’s go! We have been invited by the liaison bureau of the European Parliament in the Netherlands to participate in their seminars discussing the upcoming European Elections in June, as well as broader topics concerning women’s rights, AI, misinformation and social media. So we went to Strasbourg to check that Parliament out.

First, we were captivated by Robert Biedroń, Chair of the European Parliament’s committee on women’s rights and gender equality, whose inspiring narrative provided a unique perspective. This was followed by Evin Incir’s poignant discourse on violence against women. Next, Dragoş Tudorache from Romania enlightened us about the implementation of the AI Act, which is being implemented starting March 2024.

On the second day, Jaume Duch Guillot, Spokesperson of the European Parliament and Director-General for Communication, emphasized the significance of the European Elections (#howtovote) and the imperative of mobilizing as many people as possible.

The significance of high voter turnout in elections cannot be overstated. It is incumbent upon us to underscore the importance of democratic participation and the pursuit of peace on our continent.
